What have we found?

We are interested in understanding how the neural basis of language and reading development would differ in other languages than English, and in multilingual speakers than monolingual speakers.

The world has around 7000 languages, and more than half of the world's population is multilingual. However, current research on language and reading is predominantly on monolingual English speakers in Western countries. To improve the inclusiveness of language research, we aim to tackle the following problem: Will the findings on the neurobiology of language and reading also apply to other languages and multilingual speakers? If not, what are the differences?
